Coaching is realising persons potential to maximise their own performance.
It is helping them learn rather them teach.

It means you are looking at coaching them. It is not the knowledge or skill that is at focus here. It is behavior or attitude at work that is at the center stage. It is effective execution of skills.
Coaching has to do with behavioral problems that effect performance of an individual. It has to do with beliefs, values and behavior of an individual.
Teaching is passing of knowledge from teacher to students.
Training is passing of knowledge and skills or abilities by teaching or by experience to trainers through workshops, role plays etc.
Contrary to above two COACHING is completely driven by the Coachee and facilitated by Coach. Here Coachee is supposed to be an Expert and should know what he wants.
Coaching is helping coachee change in the way they wish and go in the direction they want to. It allows coachee to assess the situation, determine their own solutions, and take the accountability and ownership of the outcome.
Role of a COACH is to provides a different take on the current situation. It helps the coachee see things from a different perspective. It is like exploiting the blind spot or Coach working as an extra eyes and ears for the coachee and stimulating the thinking process by asking open ended questions and challenging the views, beliefs and values of the coachee.
Coaching helps improve current performance by tapping in your potential. Coaching impacts the cognitive processes and results in learning and development of coachee. Coach helps coachee to look at things from different perspective and make an aware and informed decision.
Training aims to establish a well-informed, high-performing workforce. Coaching works to maintain it. Coaching is more to reinforce what training has imparted. Coaching is less about “how to” and more about “how well”.
Training is more about knowledge and Coaching is more about wisdom. Coaching is more abut exploring OPTIONS, seeing beyond, reading between the lines. Coaching is more about AWARENESS of the situation, surrounding.
Coaching aims at handling Performance Issues and developing coachee’s capabilities.
